Great for layering on moderately cold weather.

I have been enjoying this jacket all winter in Fairbanks, AK. It has been very good for layering under a lighter wind resistant jacket for milder winter days above 0 degrees F. The fit is trim and it is not super bulky, so its great for layering. The zipper has held up very well to a lot of of use. The inside cargo pockets are large and great for my cellphone or a small purse. The fit is just a little snug, if your borderline, go bigger.

Lightweight and warm

Quality construction, like most Outdoor Research products. Warmer than you think it will be, and the "puffy" part isn't very puffy. Looks great out hiking or to a casual dinner. Outside pockets are lined and the two inner pockets are a good size. The zippered chest pocket can fit a larger phone, but not much else--which is ok, since that's what it's designed for. Purchased for wife, who is 5' 7" 160 and got a Medium.

New favorite vest!

The Helium Down Vest is not only stylish, but also lightweight, warm and packable. I really like how it isn't too puffy, and doesn't make me look like a marshmallow! My new go-to extra layer.

Perfect packable down vest

This thing is super lightweight, super packable, and super warm. An absolutely perfect combination for a down vest. The color is gorgeous too.

Warm and comfy

Vest fits nicely all around. I'm usually between an xs and small, but went with the xs... glad i did. High quality down vest. Great to wear as a layer on colder days.

Material and fit/finish are top shelf. The insulating material maintains loft and is very warm without being overly puffy. Using it as a cool weather layer to keep core warm, the cut allows for a good base layer to be worn underneath. Lastly, the color is fantastic…almost a mulberry colour. This was a great buy from a great company. I have used OR products for the last 23 years and they never fail to impress!

Excellent quality

Excellent quality and warm for the weight. My daughter needed a stylish vest that would keep her warm for school. It is fitted for a women’s shape and passed the test for a picky teenager.

Warm and great fit

I bought this to layer for a snowy Sierra backpack. I'm 5'10", 145lbs, and 32D. The Medium size fit very well, had enough length, and the arm holes didn't bind. It is very warm and I think I can actually replace my down puffy with this, adding my Helium rain jacket if my arms need coverage. I wore it to bed on a super windy 32F night when I was worried my 25F quilt wouldn't be warm enough and did not feel confined/claustophobic like I do when sleeping in my puffy. The chest pocket is just big enough for my phone, and the hand pockets have a really nice brushed lining. This is my new favorite Winter piece.

Great style, color and warmth without bulk

This is a nice, packable down vest with great style lines and beautiful, rich color. I usually wear small in down jackets, but for vests, I go down to an extra small because I want a slightly snugger fit.

Perfect.

This is my first vest, and I don't think I'll be needing to purchase another one for a long time. It does its job and does it well. It also has a very flattering cut-- not part of my criteria, but definitely a nice perk!

Warm, comfy & compact

The vest fits exactly as expected, packs down into one of the hand warmer pockets, very small and light so easy to throw into a pack in case it might be needed. Lightweight enough that I can wear it under my lightly insulated ski jacket for extra warmth.

Great vest

Fits great, pockets are nice and soft. The right in between layer for chillier days. Very lightweight. I'm 5'8" and 140lbs and the small fits perfectly, not too snug or too loose.

Perfect for winter sports layering

This is the perfect weight, looks great, and is somewhat breathable. I wear this with a wool shirts under my ski shell when snowboarding and it helps with wind on the lifts without being too warm while making turns. I also wear this xc skiing. It is great for a little warmth that can be easily unzipped for venting and crosses over nicely for heading into town.
